area, nor is the blasting area within 500 feet of an active or abandoned <br />underground mine, no monitoring is proposed. As blasting will not be <br />conducted within one-half mile of any dwellings or structures, no pre -blast <br />surveys are anticipated to be conducted. <br />To ensure compliance with restrictions on peak particle velocity, any blasting <br />at the mine will comply with the limitations on maximum weight of <br />explosives contained in Rule 4.08.4(10)(c)ii). <br />Blasting Schedule <br />GCC Energy will publish a blasting schedule between 10 and 20 days prior <br />to initiating the surface blasting program in the Durango Herald, the <br />newspaper of general circulation in the area of the mine. <br />The blasting schedule will: <br />• identify the location of blasting <br />• time periods during which blasting will occur <br />• measures to control access to the blasting area <br />• the pre -blast warning and all -clear audible signals <br />• the unavoidable hazardous conditions which would require blasting <br />outside the approved blasting schedule <br />If changes to the blasting schedule are necessary, the blasting schedule <br />notice will be republished. <br />Unavoidable Hazardous Conditions <br />Blasting will occur during times indicated in the blasting schedule unless <br />dangerous atmospheric or site conditions, as determined by the blaster -in - <br />charge, require detonation to avoid accidental detonation. If so directed by <br />an authorized law enforcement or regulatory agent, blasting may occur <br />outside the times specified in the blasting schedule. <br />Air Blast Limitations <br />Air blast will not exceed the limitations described in Rule 4.08.4(6)(a). <br />On -Site Explosive Storage and Handling Facilities <br />There will be no on-site explosive storage and handling facilities.
