Transit Mix Concrete Co.
with the final reclamation design as shown in Figure C-8. The F2 stockpile will also be regraded
and reclaimed as each section of the stockpile is completed, and all north and west facing slopes
will be reclaimed in Phase V. Final grading and reclamation of the F1, pit crest, and F2 area
includes grading this area to a smooth topography free of highwalls and other abrupt changes in
topography. A drainage channel is established at F2 to provide an open channel connecting the
stockpile to the pit floor in preparation of final reclamation. This will be reclaimed as a riparian
corridor. The upper section of this channel will be vegetated as it has a low-gradient slope, the
middle section will be armored with riprap, and the lower section is excavated into bedrock, which
provides erosion protection. Additional details on the channel are included in Exhibits E and G.
The topsoil material will either be direct hauled from the active mining area or removed and hauled
to the regrade area from TS1 or TS4. Following topsoil placement, the area will be revegetated
with the seed mix provided in Table E-7 and with mixed conifer or mountain shrubland seedlings
as discussed in Exhibit E. See Figure C-8 for endwall benches and backfill area F3 that will be
reclaimed during Phase V.
Phase VI-Mining
No mining occurs in Phase VI.
Phase VI-Reclamation
During Phase VI backfill area F2 and F3 will be regraded to the final design of 3H:1V slopes.
Stockpiled topsoil from TS1 and TS4 will hauled to the regraded area and be spread on the areas
and the areas will be seeded with the seed mix provided in Table E-7 and mixed conifer or
mountain shrubland seedlings planted as described in Exhibit E.
As shown in Figure C-9, a drainage channel is established to provide an open channel connecting
the pit area to Little Turkey Creek. This drainage channel begins on the upper lift of the F2 backfilll
area (constructed in Phase V) and continues east through the pit and discharges to Little Turkey
Creek. This channel will be reclaimed as a riparian corridor.
Once mining is completed, the entire mining area and access road will be reclaimed as discussed
in Exhibit E. The access road will be reclaimed as grassland, and the crossing of Little Turkey
Creek will include riparian vegetation.
Table D-3 illustrates the affected areas for each of the Phases of mining by disturbance type.
Disturbances associated with the scale house are included in the "roads" acreage. Affected land
areas associated with "Plant" and "Topsoil Stockpile" are also included in the "Mining Area" and
"Roads" areas; therefore, values listed under "Plant" and "Topsoil Stockpile" are not included in
the "Affected Area" columns.
Hitch Rack Ranch Quarry Permit Application
March 20,2018 D-12
