W- - „
Al Transit Mix Concrete Co.
boundaries will be surveyed and staked to ensure that mining and reclamation activities remain
within the permitted boundaries. Transit Mix intends to use separate staking for the various
boundaries. Perimeter signage at the permit boundary will face outwards to warn that there is an
active mine inside the boundary. The affected lands boundary will also be marked with signage,
but these signs will face inward to warn operators that they are not to cross the boundary line.
The disturbance, pit crest, and 100-foot offset from the creek will be staked as limits of
disturbance, and operators will be instructed not to travel or disturb beyond these stakes.
2 - CAT Loader 988K
4 - CAT Loader 980K
5 - CAT Haul Trucks 772G
2 - CAT Track Dozer D10T2
1 - CAT Motor Grader 16M
1 - CAT Backhoe 432F
2 - CAT Skid Steer 246D
1 - CAT Excavator 329E L
1 - Sandvik Drill DP1500i
1 - Kenworth Water Truck T880
1 - Cat Telehandler TL943C
1 - Kenworth Lube Truck T300
Initial grubbing and clearing, along with the removal and stockpiling of topsoil will occur on the
newly affected areas as mining progresses. The United States Department of Agriculture Natural
Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) soil resources data were used to determine depth of
topsoil to be salvaged and stockpiled for use in reclaiming affected areas of the project. Refer to
Exhibit I. These data suggest the average topsoil thickness is less than six inches in the project
area. Following construction of erosion control measures, topsoil, assumed to be six inches deep,
will be removed from affected areas and stockpiled for later use during reclamation.
Table D-1 shows the expected salvageable topsoil by mining phases. Phase I includes the
salvageable topsoil from the development of the roads, stockpile areas, the Phase I mining area,
and plant area.
Hitch Rack Ranch Quarry Permit Application
March 20,2018 D-5
