Scope <br /> This is to provide spill prevention, control, and countermeasure plans SPCC. <br /> Purpose <br /> To establish an awareness of the basic concepts of preventing spills and timely recovery <br /> if they happen on this site during general industry practices. If an incident takes place <br /> information must be communicated to the supervision and if needed the emergency <br /> personnel responding to the project to insure an organized safe effort is conducted to <br /> protect life, environment, and property damage. <br /> The purpose is meant for basic emergency preparedness for responding to accidents or <br /> incidents involving the transportation of chemical materials. The purpose is not intended <br /> for employees whose primary function is emergency response. <br /> Materials Handling and Spill Prevention. <br /> ❖ It should be noted that there is no fuel storage anticipated at the Front Range Feedlot <br /> Borrow 2 site <br /> The following are material management practices that shall be used to reduce the risk of spills <br /> or other accidental exposure of materials and substances to storm water runoff. <br /> Good Housekeeping: The following good housekeeping practices will be followed <br /> onsite during the construction project: <br /> 1. An effort will be made to store only enough material required to do the job. <br /> 2. Personnel will be familiar with proper safety handling using PPE listed by the <br /> Manufacture and or the Safety Data Sheets(SDS) <br /> 3. Materials that can potentially spill from a container stored on site will be stored in a <br /> neat, orderly manner in their appropriate containers and if needed protected from <br /> weather or within secondary containment as needed. <br /> 4. Until used,products will be kept in their original containers with the original <br /> manufacturer's label, once in use proper containment and labeling standards shall be <br /> followed. <br /> 5. Substances will not be mixed with one another unless recommended by the <br /> manufacturer. <br /> 6. Whenever possible, all of a product will be used up before disposing properly of the <br /> container. <br /> 7. Manufacturers' recommendations for proper use shall be followed. <br /> 8. Any remaining chemicals shall be disposed of according to manufacturers' <br /> recommendations and in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations. <br /> 9. The SWMP Administrator and onsite Management will inspect regularly to ensure <br /> proper use and disposal of materials onsite. <br /> 2 P � ,` r <br />
