Hitch Rack Ranch Quarry Waste Stockpile Stability Analyses/591-6
NORWEST March 13,2
Pagee 7 7
COR PORAT ION
7. RECOMMENDATIONS
A list of recommendations is provided below to mitigate risks and supplement the ongoing slope stability
compliance during operation.
• Site specific investigation, such as test pits, should be completed at the footprint of F1 to confirm
overburden thickness, material characteristics, and groundwater conditions.
• Samples of the overburden and topsoil stockpiled should be collected and tested for strength to
determine their actual parameters.
• Samples should be collected from the fines stockpiled material and analyzed to determine their
actual strength parameters.
• The engineering designs should be reviewed using the site-specific data and revised if needed prior
to construction.
• The upstream surface water run-on above the stockpile should be managed to limit infiltration
and erosion.
• Once the final site conditions, construction design,,placement method, and monitoring plans are
in place, the stability should be reviewed with the updated information to evaluate the difference
in parameters and determine any adjustment to stability analyses is needed.
