Monitoring at Spoil Spring 6 (SSSPG6) was moved to the Spoils Sping 6A location. Spoil
Spring 6A monitors the same drainage downstream of Spoil Spring 6, where it meets the haul road.
Access to the Spoil Spring 6 location is down a very steep (and therefore potentially dangerous)
trail.
2. Monitoring at Spoil Spring 7 (SSSPG7) was discontinued. This spoil spring issues from old
Seneca II Mine workings in the Pond 002 basin. It was buried during construction of the Lower
Sump for the Sage Creek Mine.
3. Monitoring at wells COV 11, COV23, COV2633, CW23, CW2632, SW 17, SW 19, SGAL71 and
SSP27 was suspended until mining resumes. Monitoring frequencies for the remaining wells were
changed to annual for bedrock wells, and semiannual for alluvial and spoil wells
4. Discontinue monitoring at Outfall 004 (Pond 004 on Cow Camp Creek in the Fish Creek basin).
The new (2016) NPDES permit has dropped monitoring at this outfall, but has now required
monitoring at two spoil springs above this pond: Spoil Spring I (SSSPGI = Outfall 006) and Spoil
spring 2 (SSSPG2 = Outfall 005). Those two spoil springs will be monitored per the NPDES permit
requirements.
TR09-16. 2.04-108a Revision 7/28/16
