© range between 400 to 800 pounds of air dry forage per acre. The median
production expected on a well managed Stony Foothills range site is 600 pounds of
air dry forage per acre.
I -A
The range site has been given a high value rating for deer use but low for elk
use. It is given a medium use value for sheep and cattle. As a watershed, the
range site has a medium value rating. Aspen pockets occur along the upper
portion of the Williams Fork Mountains on the eastern most portions of the
proposed mine plan area., These pockets are few in number and range in size from
1-5 acres. Neither of these two vegetation types are expected to be impacted by
mining or reclamation activities during the proposed permit life.
The remaining two types, mountain shrub and big sagebrush grass, will be impacted
by mining and reclamation activities. According to the State of Colorado Mined
Land Reclamation Division's regulations and baseline data compiled in 1979-1980,
both types are categorized as shrublands (Table 2.3.9).
2-93A
