The proposed mining site is rangeland that consists of drainage contours that have native
grasses and also cedar trees throughout. The recommended seed mix is listed below:
Gamma Grass, Indian Rice grass, Western Wheatgrass, Alfalfa, Mountain Mahogany, Currant,
Winterfat.
There are no permanent structures within two hundred (200) feet of the affected area.
There are no known aquifers within the mining area or in the vicinity of the mining area.
Gravel extraction will be performed within bermed work areas in order to contain and collect
storm runoff water and sediments that may otherwise be carried to neighboring drainages.
Due to the high percolation of the soil in the pit and the fact that the mining will cover a
small acreage the bermed mining area are not expected to form detention ponds or standing water
due to storm events.
The largest drainage in the area is outside of the permit area and will be bermed to
prevent it from encroaching into the permit area.
