The inspection was <br />completed by Clayton Wein of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (the Division). Bill Bear of Bowie <br />Resources, LLC (BRL) was present for the inspection. The weather was clear and breezy with a temperature of 51 <br />degrees farenheight. The ground conditions were partly snow comvered and muddy. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4 .05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.1 8: <br /> There are six ponds located at the surface facilities of the Bowie No. 2 Mine; Pond B (Photo 1), Pond C, <br />Pond D (Photo 2), Pond F (Photo 3), Pond J (Photo 4) and Pond K. Pond B was holding a small amount of water <br />during the inspection. There was some snow on the embankments. There were no s igns of instability or erosion. <br />Pond C was holding water. The level of the water was below the spillway. The embankments were well vegetated <br />and stable. There were no erosional features observed. Pond D was holding a small amount of water. The north - <br />facing side of the embankments had snow on them. The embankments were stable. There was not any indications <br />of erosion. Pond F was receiving snowmelt from the Gob Pile 2 area. The water impounded in the pond had not <br />reached the level of the spillway. T he embankments were partly covered with snow and stable. There were no <br />erosional features observed. Pond J was holding a small amount of water at the time of the inspection. The north - <br />facing embankments were mostly covered with snow. There were no sign s of instability or erosional issues. Pond <br />K was observed from Highway 131, the pond was dry. The embankments were well vegetated and stable. There <br />were no erosional features identified.
