Central Aggregates Inc.
PO Box 1877
25028 HIGHWAY 6
Rifle, Colorado 81650
970-625-3598
February 28, 2018
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Reference: Brief description of the proposed technical revision of West Rifle Pit,
Permit No. M-1981-006
Dear Ms. Amy Yeldell,
Per our conversation you asked us to clarify the issue with the map you provided us.
On your map, Parcel B and Parcel D were swapped. We have corrected it on the new
enclosed map we are providing.
We were also asked to provide the Division with clarification of which areas would be
recreational verses commercial industrial. Parcel E and Parcel D will be designated
post mining land use as commercial industrial.
Parcel E has one structure and Parcel D has two structures that will remain post mining
for commercial industrial use. They are labeled on the map we are providing.
No future mining will occur in Parcel E. There will be a 400-500 ton stockpile of gravel
stored on the west side of Parcel E for future road and yard maintenance. This material
will be strictly used for post mining maintenance on this property.
The southwest corner of Parcel D has 1,030 feet of shoreline that borders the pond and
will be seeded with a 20 foot buffer zone along the waters edge.
Parcel A and Parcel B are both designated post mining land use as recreational and
these two parcels were released by the Division in 2012.
Sincerely,
William T. Lee, President
