TR-27 consists of a revised Water Quality Monitoring Plan(WQMP),Version R4,to replace the
current version in the Climax Environmental Protection Plan(submitted as TR-24). This WQMP revision
is submitted pursuant to consultation with DRMS and in response to DRMS letters of October 20,2017
and November 15,2017. DRMS had requested that Climax submit an updated WQMP that adopts CBSG
table values as NPLs as provided for in the Interim Narrative Standard for all POC wells currently
identified in the WQMP,with the exception of manganese that is above the CBSG table values in the
Arkansas River and Eagle River basins. In accordance with the plan submitted to DRMS on January 18,
2018, Climax will seek development of site-specific groundwater classifications and standards for
manganese for the Arkansas River and Eagle River basins.
This revision to the WQMP contains much of the same information as Version R3 (TR-24)but with
updated information, where applicable,to reflect current conditions. More specifically, the revision to the
WQMP, incorporates the results of baseline monitoring that has been conducted since the water quality
monitoring program began in 2011, and presents an evaluation of this data to develop final indicator
parameters to be used for long-term monitoring, subject to the approval of DRMS.
Enclosed is a hard copy of the WQMP,Version R4,and the$1,006.00 fee applicable to a 112d operation.
Please feel free to contact me at 719-486-7584 if you need any additional information.
Sincerely,
Raymond Laz
Environmental Manager
enc.
