Shovel Test #I
Shovel Test 1 was placed in the location of the previously
recorded mano (STI, mano not relocated) near the southern
periphery of the site.
Soils: Upper 1-2cm=unconsolidated brown loam and glass
rootlets.
2-7cm=compact brown loam
7 -sandstone= very compact, yellowish -brown clay loam.
Contacted decomposed sandstone at 25-27cm. Test is 25cm x
25cm x 28cm depth.
Cultural artifacts were not recovered.

Shovel Test #2
Shovel Test 2 was near the newly recorded mano and near the
newly established western periphery of the site.
Cultural artifacts were not recovered.

Test Pit #1
Due to the paucity cultural material, excavation of Test Pit 1 was
halted at a depth of 5cm.

Test Pit #2
Test Pit 2 was excavated to a total depth of 30cm below present
ground surface. Diffuse charcoal flecks were encountered at
depths between 15 and 17cm below vertical datum in the
northwest corner of the pit. Only one artifact, a chert microflake
(FS #3), was recovered at a depth between 1 to l Ocm.
