PERMIT #: M-1986-124
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE: February 22, 2018
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted by Eric Scott of DBMS. James Cecil, permittee and property owner was also
present for the inspection. The Cecil li pit is located approximately 5.5 miles northeast of Cope Colorado were
County Road AAA crosses the Arickaree River. The site is permitted for 9.9 acres and the post mining land use
is currently designated as general agriculture. The site identification sign was present near the site entrance
(photo 1.).
The site is mined on an as -needed basis from the channel of the intermittent Arickaree River (photos 2 and 3).
The Division observed evidence of recent removal of sand and gravel from the stream channel and along the
bank of the river. Mr. Cecil stated that he does not intend to mine outside of the river channel and will
attempt to minimize or eliminate removal of any additional material from the river banks that would require
additional reclamation activity.
Based on the very limited disturbance observed during this inspection, the current bond should be adequate
to reclaim the existing disturbed areas of the river bank. No other issues were observed during this
inspection.
Inspection Contact Address
James Cecil
8500 County Road AAA
Cope, CO 80812
Page 2 of
