The permit was issued to New Elk Coal Company, LLC, 12250 Highway 12, Weston, <br />CO 81091, (719) 631-6141, for their mining operation located in Las Animas County, <br />approximately 3 miles West of Segundo on Hwy 12. The permit area is further described as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Old Legal- <br /> On lands south of the Purgatoire River, lands east of the South Fork of the Purgatoire and <br />Alamosa Canyon, lands north of Vermejo Park, and lands west of Widow Woman Canyon <br />containing approximately 17,862 acres. <br /> <br />Copies of the permit are available at the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. <br />
