Lynch <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />FEB 212018 <br />Division of Redamnfion, <br />Mining & Safely <br />Re: Williams Fork Mines, Permit No. C-1981-044, Permit Renewal Application No. 7(RN-7) (SHPO Project <br />#71297) <br />Dear Ms. Lynch: <br />Thank you for your correspondence dated September 12, 2018 (Received by our office on September 14, 2018) <br />for the above referenced project submitted to our office is pursuant to CRS 24-80.1, The State Register of <br />Historic Places. <br />It is unclear where and how the permit renewal application would affect historic properties since no <br />accompanying material, including a topographic map of the area of potential effects (APE), was provided. <br />Therefore, we are unable to comment on the proposed project's effects on historic properties. <br />We remind the Division of Reclamation, Miming and Safety that under CRS 24-80.1-104 2a the agency initiating the <br />action shall ident6, such properties located within the area o fthe proposed action, note the sociq of the proposed action, request a <br />determination o f 0ect on such properties, and a f foal the society a period of thiq days in which to review the pmposed action. <br />Notification shall include sufficient and relevant information needed to make a determination of effect. <br />Should human remains also be discovered during project activities, the requirements under State law C.R.S. 24-80 <br />(part 13) apply- and must be followed. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
