1.0 INTRODUCTION
In September 2017, Loveland Ready Mix (LRM) submitted an application to the
Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety (Division) to permit the proposed
Laporte sand and gravel operations; "Knox Pit Construction Material Application DRMS
112", DRMS No. M-2017-036.
As part of the approval process the Division has requested LRM submit a groundwater
quality monitoring plan and sufficient data to determine baseline groundwater quality and
demonstrate the site will be in compliance with CDPHE Water Quality Control
Commission(WQCC) Regulation 41: Basic Standards for Groundwater during the tenure
of the mine and reclamation.
This Sampling and Analysis Plan(SAP) describes the sampling and analysis methods and
monitoring schedule that will be employed for the collection of groundwater quality
samples and water samples from the water management pond at the Loveland Ready Mix
Concrete, Inc. (LRM), Laporte Operations (Site).
The site, monitoring well locations, and water management pond are shown on Figure 1.
Groundwater elevation contours for the area are included in Figure 2.
2.0 OBJECTIVE
The objective of this SAP is to characterize baseline groundwater quality in the aquifer
underlying the proposed Site (Cache La Poudre Alluvial Aquifer), ensure mining and
reclamation activities at the Site do not degrade existing groundwater quality/uses and
that the water quality collection methods guarantee data quality. The SAP includes:
Collection of ground water samples
Collection of water samples from the water management pond
Collection of ground water quality data
Documentation of data collection activities
Analytical methods and detection levels
Sampling protocols
Quality Assurance and Quality Control(QA/QC)
Loveland Ready-Mix Concrete,Inc. 1 Telesto Solutions,Inc.
20!80213_Inn_lapone_p_sap_final February 2018
