This letter serves as Loveland Ready-Mix's (LRM) response to the
Adequacy Review 3 Comments from the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
DRMS), dated January 23, 2018.
Loveland Ready-Mix acknowledges the application consideration date extension and the
Mined Land Reclamation Board hearing date of March 21 and 22, 2018. LRM will
attend the Pre-Hearing Conference on March 8, 2018 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
RULE 6.4.4 EXHIBIT D — MINING PLAN
Comment 12a
In accordance with Rule 3.1.8, please explain the measures that will be taken to protect
the safety of wildlife near the mining operation and processing sites and along all access
roads to the mine site.
Response 12a
By mining this site in phases and reseeding with grass as part of the concurrent
reclamation, disturbance to existing pasture area will be minimized and will support bird
and animal wildlife that currently resides within the existing agricultural uses on this site.
Breaking the site into five mining phases and reclaiming the site as each phase is
completed minimizes fragmentation of the current habitat. A corridor on each side of the
Little Cache la Poudre Ditch will minimize fragmentation by providing continuous
passage for wildlife through the site thus enabling safe movement between mined phases.
Colorado Office (Corporate) Grand Junction New Mexico Office
3801 Automation Way,Suite 201 751 Horizon Court,Suite 109 1303 Pope Street
Fort Collins,Colorado 80525 Grand Junction,Colorado 81506 Silver City,New Mexico 88061
970-484-7704/970-484-7789(FAX) 970-697-1550 575-538-5620 1575-538-5625(FAX)
