<br /> <br /> <br />Notice of Proposed Decision <br /> <br /> <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety has issued a proposed decision to <br />approve Bond Release Application No. 6 (SL-6) for the Bowie No. 1 Mine , Permit No. C-1981- <br />038. SL-6 approved the Phase I release of 2.31 acres associated with the five ponds at the East <br />Mine and the one pond at the Run of Mine Area, and approved the Phase II release of 58.84 <br />acres associated with the backfilled and graded areas at the East Min e. The underground <br />operation is operated by Bowie Resources, LLC under the provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal <br />Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The bond release application was submitted by Bowie <br />Resources, LLC on July 5, 2017. Bowie Resources, LLC aplied for a partial phase I and phase II <br />release of 59.4 acres associated with the East Mine and the Run of Mine Pond. The request was <br />adjusted to a partial phase I request for 2.31 acre s associated with five ponds at the East Mine and <br />one pond at the Run of Mine Area, and a partial phase II request of 58.84 acres associated with the <br />backfilled and graded areas at the East Mine. The affected area is located in Delta County, <br />approximately 3 miles North of Paonia. <br /> <br />Copies of the proposed decision are available for review at the Colorado Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety office, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, and on the <br />Division’s website at <br />http://mining.state.co.us/Reports/MiningData/Pages/ImagedDocumentData.aspx. Requests for a hearing must be made in writing within <br />thirty (30) days of the first publication of this notice, and shall state with reasonable specificity the <br />reasons for the request and objections to the proposed decision. <br />
