At the end of year 2007, the year that coal production ended, there was a cumulative total of 848.6 acres
disturbed over the life -of -mine, including the Yoast Access Road (74.8 acres). An area of 6.25 acres of
disturbed lands were reclaimed, conversion of this area to an industrial/commercial postmining land use
was approved, and Phase I/II/III bond release was subsequently approved in March 2014. This reduced the
total disturbance area to approximately 842.4 acreas.
Permanent Structures and Features
A variety of structures will be left as permanent features on the postmining topography to enhance the
postmining land use. These features and structures include:
• Access roads (with associated ditches and culverts)
• Light -use roads (with associated ditches and culverts)
• Water wells
• Powerline and substation (owned by Yampa Valley Electric Assn.)
• Fenced shrub plots
• Sediment ponds and stockponds
• Grazing area and boundary fences
The locations of these structures and features are shown on Exhibit 20-2, Postmining Topography.
Attachment 20-1, Permanent Structures and Features, contains a list of permanent features, signed letters
from the landowners requesting the permanent features, and permanent road and pond demonstrations.
References Cited
D.C.A.
