(f) The Exhibit C map may be used along with the narrative to present the
following information:
The Operator does not consider the following information, (f) (i) and(ii) as
confidential
(i) Nature, depth and thickness of the deposit to be mined and thickness and
type of overburden:
The mined material will be sand, gravel and fill material. The overburden is 2 feet
deep. The area will be mined to a depth of 30 feet or less, depending on the actual
depth of the resource. In the event ground water is encountered, the location will not
be further mined and the location backfilled to at least two feet above the prevailing
ground water elevation. No ground water has been encountered during mining in the
existing 110 permitted mining operation.
The types of overburden are sandy loam, gravelly sandy clay loam, and clay to sand,
based on the soils report.
(ii) Nature of the stratum immediately beneath the material to be mined in
sedimentary deposits:
To the extent known, the underlying material is mostly sand.
(g) Identify the primary and secondary commodities to be mined/extracted:
At this time, the only commodities to be mined are sand, gravel and overburden, used as
fill material.
(h) Describe the intended use of all expected incidental products to be
mined/extracted:
The extracted material will only be used for Elbert County road and bridge projects.
(i) Specify if explosives will be used:
Since this is a sand and gravel mining operation, explosives will not be used during
mining or reclamation.
25
