Randall, Executive Director | Virginia Brannon, Director 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 Denver, CO 80203 February 12, 2018 Howard Strand Office of Surface Mining Western Region 1999 Broadway, Suite 3320 Denver, CO 80202 Re: Williams Fork Mines (Permit No. C-1981-044) Permit Renewal Application No. 7 (RN-7) Dear Mr. Strand: The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 12, 2018, an application to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the Williams Fork Mines was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. Moffat County Mining, LLC proposes to continue underground coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land located approximately 7 miles Southwest of Craig, Colorado. This renewal application does not propose revisions to the approved mining and reclamation plan, nor is there any proposed surface disturbance outside of the currently approved disturbance area. The permit area is further described as follows: All or portions of Sections 4, 5, 6 and 8, T5N, R91W; part of Section 1, T5N, R92W; and Sections 17, 19, 20, 21, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33, T6N, R91W; portions of Sections 25, 26, 35 and 36, T6n, R92W; 6th Prime Meridian. The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map(s): Round Bottom, Castor Gulch.
