The berms on the
current HGM platform were moved further north toward the mill to create a working platform.
Waste rock, including large cobbles/boulders and clay, from the previous berms atop the mill
platform were loaded and transported away to a waste stockpile. A temporary road from
existing mill platform to the extension was cut and laid out with the excavator to get an idea of
final alignment and grade.
.2 Subgrade
Existing slopes between the mill platform and road beneath it were cleaned of unsuitable
material, primarily large cobbles and boulders, with the loader and then compacted with the
roller in order to provide a competent surface for the select structural fill to tie in with.
1.3 Select Structural Fill (SSF)
Select structural fill was transported and dumped using two Volvo A4OF articulated dump trucks
(approximately 25 CY per load). The fill was spread using a Volvo H061 loader to a maximum,
loose thickness of 12 inches and compacted with a BW211 Bomag roller using a method
specification for compaction.
Page 1
