Most of the HGM platform is now at the final grade elevation. The HGM
platform elevation was surveyed by Schmueser Associates. Prior to placement of fill, unsuitable
material located on the surface of the HGM platform, including large cobbles/boulders, were
loaded and transported to a waste stockpile.
Foresight West Surveying, Inc. (FWS) arrived on-site at approximately 9am. FWS surveyed the
access roadway, existing utilities, proposed utilities, and extent of the HGM platform. According
to the survey, the access roadway alignment was adjusted and raised approximately 12 inches.
The roadway is not yet to final grade or alignment.
1.2 Subgrade
The existing mill platform was cleared of surficial unsuitable material, primarily large cobbles and
boulders, with the loader and then compacted with the roller in order to provide a competent
surface for the select structural fill to tie in with.
1.3 Select Structural Fill(SSF)
Select structural fill was transported and dumped using two Volvo A4OF articulated dump trucks
(approximately 25 CY per load). The fill was spread using a Volvo H061 loader to a maximum,
loose thickness of 12 inches and compacted with a BW211 Bomag roller using a method
specification for compaction.
Page 1
