Minor grading was performed on the HGM platform to <br /> flatten out any low and high spots on the platform. The HGM platform and access road are at <br /> final grade and alignment, no additional earthworks are planned for the platform area. <br /> Pipe bedding material to be used for HDPE pipe installation was stockpiled on the HGM platform <br /> using two Volvo A4OF articulated dump trucks (approximately 25 CY per load). Two 5-gallon <br /> bucket samples of the pipe bedding material were delivered to a soils laboratory located in <br /> Colorado Spring for gradation and standard Proctor compaction tests. Results of the gradations <br /> testing will be used to document bedding material is acceptable according to project <br /> specifications. The Proctor results will be used for target compaction of the material during <br /> placement. <br /> A plastic fence was set up around the area that will be dug to locate existing utilities that exit the <br /> existing mill. <br /> Red alert for lightning occurred from approximately 1:30 to 4:30pm. <br /> 1.2 Subgrade <br /> Minor subgrade preparation was conducted along the south perimeter of the access road. Prior <br /> to subgrade preparation,unsuitable materials composed of cobbles and boulders were removed <br /> from the ground surface. The subgrade was then compacted with a minimum of four passes with <br /> the BW211 Bomag vibratory roller. <br /> Page 1 <br />
