Reclamation Costs
The work proposed herein, which encompasses the Phase 2 requirements under the Work Plan,is
considered reclamation and is a permanent improvement relative to the present conditions. There will be
no new disturbance from the proposed work.
Caldera incurred costs of$27,624 to complete the 1-acre test plot in October 2017,broken down as
follows:
• $6,130 mobilization,material handling, and delivery
• $20,740 materials, labor, equipment and fuel to complete steps 1-3
• $754 seed mixes
Of the 1-acre test plot, approximately 0.75 acres overlaps with the 3.2-acre area of the slope that is
applicable to Phase 2 of the Work Plan, leaving a remainder of 2.45 acres that still requires treatment.
Caldera estimates the total remaining costs to complete the work proposed herein will be approximately
$67,680 (2.45 acres multiplied by$27,624).
Simultaneous with ratifying the AOC, Caldera provided$1,900,000 of fmancial assurance to EPA using a
combination of cash and a deed of trust(collectively"CB Trust"). The amount of the CB Trust is equal
to the estimated costs to complete Phase 1 of the Work Plan. Costs to complete Phase 2 of the Work Plan
are not included in the CB Trust.
Upon Caldera's submittal of TR-06, EPA will defer to the Division's administration of Financial
Warranty(FW)through the mining permit to complete Phase 2 of the Work Plan. The current FW held
by the Division is $90,000. Caldera proposes to increase the FW by$67,680,which would bring the total
FW held by the Division to $157,680.
