Outline of Proposed Reclamation Plan Amendment
Pitch Project, DRMS Permit no. M-1977-004 HR
Introduction and Objectives of this Amendment
a. Long-term Geotechnical Stability
i. Waste Rock Dump Slopes, Roads, Pit Slopes
ii. Movement of Slopes near Scarp
b. Water Quality — Surface and Groundwater
i. Sediment Control Structures
ii. Water Mitigation
iii. Phosphate Injection
c. Post Mining Land Uses — Wildlife, Grazing, Recreation
i. Create Appropriate Slope Gradients — for Stability and Grazing
ii. Topsoil and Growth Medium — Improve Revegetation Success
iii. Revegetation: Lodgepole Pine Germination, Shrubs, Grass and Forbs —
Plant variety of Species and areas to Enhance Grazing and Wildlife
iv. Roadways for Future Public Access
d. Needs for Maintenance -free Facility
i. Erosion Minimized and Controlled
ii. Durable and Sufficient Sediment Controls
iii. Self-sustaining Revegetation
iv. Noxious Weeds Controlled
V. Water Quality Meets Standards
e. Standards and Specifications for will be included in the upcoming
amendment: slope gradients, slope stability, water quality, revegetation, etc.
f. Final Note: This Plan will also include reference to areas where details of final
reclamation are not yet known for this Amendment. As reclamation standards
or requirements are defined in the future, the reclamation needs and plans will
be formulated and DRMS approvals obtained, through future technical
revisions.
?. Planned Reclamation at Each Affected Area of the Site
a. Scarp Feature Above North Pit and all North Pit Slopes
i. Tree Cutting and Removal — limited to only where needed
ii. Grade Surface Cracks to Maximize Positive Drainage
iii. Grade for Slope Stability — benches and slopes, determine gradient per
engineering studies
iv. Surface Water Controls
V. Spread Available Growth Medium on graded slopes
Vi. Spread Lodgepole Slash
Vii. Revegetation Seeding
