Box 773598 <br />Steamboat Springs, CO 80477 <br /> <br /> <br />Re: Proposed Decision <br /> Permit Renewal Application No. 1 (RN-1) <br /> Peabody Sage Creek Mine (Permit No. C-2009-087) <br /> <br /> <br />Dear Routt County Commissioners: <br /> <br />This letter is to inform you that the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is <br />proposing to approve a renewal application for a coal mining and reclamation permit. The <br />application was submitted by Peabody Sage Creek Mining, LLC on January 27, 2015, for the <br />Peabody Sage Creek Mine. <br /> <br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request <br />a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the first publication <br />of this notice by the Division in the Steamboat Pilot. <br /> <br />The underground mine is located approximately 9 miles Southeast of Hayden. The permit area is <br />further described as follows: <br /> <br />Township 5 North, Range 87 West, all or portions of Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, <br />15, 16, 21 and 22; Township 6 North, Range 87 West, all or portions of Sections 27, 28, 29, 32, 33, <br />34, 35 and 36 <br /> <br /> <br />Copies of the renewal application are available for public review in the Division offices at the <br />above address and Routt County Clerk and Recorder, 136 6th Street, Steamboat Springs, CO <br />80477. A Copy of the Division's “Proposed Decision and Findings of Compliance” is available at <br />your County Clerk and Recorder’s office.
