There are 4.5 acres on GW46 Trust property that was part of the New Horizon Mine Haul Road
which has subsequently been reclaimed as Irrigated Pasture, as shown on Figure 2.05.3(3)-37.
Pond 007 currently provides sediment control for the GW46 Trust property. However, Pond 007
and most of its watershed are in various stages of bond release and will no longer be able to
provide sediment control for the area referenced above. Therefore, New Horizon Mine will
utilize a grass filter from the adjacent reclaimed area to provide alternate sediment control for the
4.5 acre Irrigated Pasture area, as illustrated on Figure 2.05.3(3)-37.
Although the SEDCAD effluent demonstration indicates a 15 feet wide grass filter is sufficient,
New Horizon Mine will maintain a minimum 25 feet wide filter to provide additional sediment
control and sufficient access between the alternate sediment control area and adjacent bond
release area. Fencing will be installed around the boundary of the alternate sediment control area
to sufficiently separate the area from the adjacent reclaimed bond release area. The Irrigated
Pasture area will be watered using a combination of side rolls, big guns and handsets. Access to
the Irrigated Pasture area will be available from BB Road through gates entrances at either
GW46 Trust property or adjacent Elk Ridge Mining and Reclamation property.
Attachment 2.05.3(3)-37 Page 1 September 2017 (TR -83)
