To: Jared Ebert
Date: December 29, 2017
Page 14
Response 26
The pre-dewatering monitoring program consists of 14 monitoring wells installed on site
and 24 wells that neighbors have graciously allowed us to measure depths to
groundwater. The depth-to-water measurements are occurring monthly in the site
monitoring wells. One round of depth-to-water measurement in the neighbor's wells
occurred during the irrigation season. We will be reaching out to those neighbors to ask
permission to take readings this non-irrigation season.
The current monitoring program and available data are described in Section 7 of the
second submittal of the groundwater modeling report(provided subsequently).
Comment 27
The Exhibit cites a groundwater study report (Telesto 2017b). Please submit this report.
Response 27
The original report was generated as an addendum to Larimer County's special use
permit application. It has subsequently been updated with newly gathered information
and changes required by the mine plan. The updated report will be provided
subsequently.
Comment 28
LRM did not include an estimate of the consumptive use of water for the office and batch
plant because municipal water will be used for this. However Rule 6.4.7(3) and (4)
requires an estimate of the annual volumes of water to be used for these facilities and a
projected amount from each of the sources of water to supply the project. Please provide
this information.
Response 28
LRM utilized a dynamic systems model (DSM) to evaluate its water requirements over
the 10-year anticipated life of the Knox Pit. The consumptive use results of this model
are documented in the request for a substitute supply plan from the Colorado Division of
Water Resources (DWR, Attachment 8).
Response to DBMS comments T E L E S T
