particular mine area may change based on project economics and may vary from what is shown on the
drawings.
The proposed design was carefully composed in order to reduce the amount of runoff that would report to
the east highwall next to Grassy Valley. Any little amount that does fall on the slopes will either saturate
into the un-compacted slope or make its way to the current pit ramp and infiltrate along it back into the
pit. All precipitation will stay within the pit area.
Reclamation of the backfill will follow currently approved methods described in previous amendments
including a final slope of no steeper than 2.5:1 with six inch topsoil placement and use of the previously
approved native seed mix. For areas that are backfilled to the level of the existing ground surface, these
areas will be graded to provide positive surface flow back into the pit and will be blended with
surrounding topography.
Schedule:
Backfilling of the WHEX pit has already commenced as approved in previous Amendments. Backfilling
to meet this design is expected to begin in Q 1 of 2018 and will continue as needed in the future to
accommodate short haul preferences.
Financial Warranty:
Table 1 below shows CC&V's bond increase for regrading, cover placement, and revegetation on 45
additional acres in the WHEX backfill area. All cover placement and revegetation methods are per
approved aspects of Amendment 11.
Table 1.TR 96 bond calculation.
Costs Bond Increase
Regrading $98,431
Cover Placement $115,873
Revegetation $141,660
Total $355,964
Enclosed please find check no. 200032780 in the amount of$1,006 for the technical revision fee.
