<br /> <br /> <br />NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br /> <br /> <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety proposes to approve Permit Revision <br />Application No. 8, submitted by Trapper Mining, Inc. for a coal mining permit at the Trapper Mine <br />(Permit No. C-1981-010). This revision discusses each item under Stipulation No. 22 with <br />reference to revised permit document pages and, additional appendices. Also included are design <br />information for five proposed sediment ponds to be built within the PR7 expansion area. Trapper <br />Mine Inc., is not requesting for approval to mine in the PR7 expansion area at this time. The <br />revision includes information on the overburden characteristics, hydrologic information about <br />Deacon and Jeffway gulches and associated seeps, and results of water quality sampling. Five <br />ponds are proposed for addition encompassing an additional 25 acres of disturbance. <br /> <br />The Trapper Mine is a/an surface operation located in Moffat County, approximately 6 miles <br />Southwest of Craig, Colorado. Coal interest is federal, state and private, and the surface to be <br />affected is state and private land. The permit area encompasses approximately 11,156.69 acres. <br /> <br />This proposed decision is based on a finding that the proposed operation will comply with all <br />requirements of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, Section 34-33-101, et seq., <br />C.R.S., and the regulations promulgated thereunder. <br /> <br />Copies of the proposed decision, including any stipulations, are on file for public inspection at the <br />Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215, Centennial Building, 1313 <br />Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203 and Moffat County Clerk and Recorder, 221 W Victory <br />Way, Craig, CO 81625. Persons with an interest that may be adversely affected by the proposed <br />decision may request a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board on the proposed <br />decision. Such request must be made within thirty (30) days of the initial publication of this notice, <br />must be in writing, and must state with reasonable specificity the reasons for the request and the <br />objections to the proposed decision. <br />
