_& FREMONT PAVING and REDI=MIX, INC.
839 MacKenzie Avenue Telephone:
P. O. Box 841 (Bus.) 719 - 275-3264
Canon City, Colorado 81215 (Fax) 719 - 275-8897
December 18, 2017
Mr. Elliott Russell
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
RE: Technical Revision for Pueblo East Pit, M-2000-041
Mr. Russell,
Fremont Paving and Redi Mix, Inc. is requesting a Technical Revision to the above referenced pit.
Fremont would like to begin importing clean dirt, construction waste and aged concrete to be placed in
the mine out sections of the pit for backfill material.
It is difficult to anticipate the volume of inert material to be backfilled, however, the total yearly amount
would not exceed 100,000 cubic yards per year. A majority of this material will be imported clean dirt.
We would begin this process as soon as the Technical Revision has been approved and would continue
through reclamation. This material will be compatible with our post-mining land use and will be used to
help reclaim the area above the prevailing groundwater elevation. The material will be placed in 10-foot
lifts using equipment to compact the material.
There will be no additional cost to import this material to the site, as we will use a back-haul method
from a sister facility to transport. In fact, the utilization of such backfill material will help to alleviate any
issues with a limited supply of material on site to use for reclamation.
We will send an affidavit certifying the material is clean and inert once the Technical Revision has been
approved, but prior to importation.
Sincerely,
J Schreiber
ief of Operations
719-275-3264
719-429-9001
jodi@arycorp.com
ASPHALT CONCRETE SAND & GRAVEL
Equal Opportunity Employer
