Oxbow also abandoned and reclaimed numerous boreholes and roads associated with the
Sanborn Creek Mine.
Included as revisions to the PAP are required abandonment records for Sanborn Creek Mine
Gobvent boreholes called CBM-1 through 14, which were plugged and cemented by Himes Drilling
Company, Inc. The new abandonment record has been added to an updated Exhibit 2.04-E3,
Geologic Information Item 9, Borehole Abandonment Information section, which is contained in
Volume 7 of the Permit. This replaces a section that had been revised in October of 2015 with MR-
107. The physical locations of the abandoned holes are described in Volume 7, Exhibit 2.04-E3
Item 9—Methane Drainage Well Information. These holes had been left accessible with valves
closed because of interest by Vessels Coal Gas, Inc. and others in exploring future uses of the
methane associated with these holes, but the methane volumes were not enough to be useful.
Also included in this revision is a copy of a letter sent by Hotchkiss Ranches, Inc. requesting to
retain existing light use drill roads for reasons stated in the letter. This should be added to Volume
12, 2.05 E5, Correspondence from Hotchkiss Ranches, Inc.
0 Page 1/2
