In <br />addition an access ramp was constructed from State <br />Highway 133 to the truck scales and to the truck dump <br />area. Topsoil was excavatQd for the scales, and the <br />access road. Drainage from the area is directed to the <br />railroad spur drainage and flows downgrade to the train <br />loadout sediment pond. The Operator has approval to <br />improve the entrance to the truck scale. The haul road <br />will be widened so trucks can bypass the scales to the <br />south and east and proceed to the truck dump without <br />crossing the scales. Topsoil will be excavated from the <br />new disturbed area and stockpiled in the area shown <br />on Map 7. <br />6. Truck Dump <br />The truck dump accepts coal from belly dump haul <br />trucks. The dump is enclosed by a 25 foot wide by 60 <br />foot long by 30 foot tall building. Loaded trucks <br />approach the dump from the north and position <br />themselves over the dump, inside the building before <br />discharging their load of coal through the bottom of <br />their dump beds into a hopper below the building. Both <br />noise and dust created by the discharge of coal at the <br />truck dump is controlled by the building enclosure and <br />the use of a bag house to collect fugitive dust <br />originated by the transfer of coal, both from\the truck to <br />the hopper and from the hopper to the elevating <br />conveyor which delivers coal to the silos. Both paved <br />and gravel surfaced roadways at the entrance and exit <br />of the truck dump are frequently watered to allay <br />roadway dust.
