The applicant is not proposing
additional surface disturbance outside of the area currently approved for disturbance.
CPW has worked collaboratively with the Colorado Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and
Enforcement (OSMRE) and Colowyo Mine to develop site-specific mitigation that will help
reduce, minimize or avoid impacts to wildlife and wildlife habitat associated with mining
operations in the project area. These mitigation practices have been documented via other
correspondence documents with OSMRE, and CPW believes that the proposed activities fall
within the scope of anticipated impacts that were considered and included in these documents.
CPW does not recommend any additional site-specific mitigation.
CPW appreciates the opportunity to provide comments for the South Taylor Mine Technical
Revision No. 117.
