December 9, 2017 RieceivFd
DEC 8 201I
Ms. Amy Eschberger d1VIS/pN p
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety M/N/NpgNDSAFMAt/pN
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 l?y
Denver, CO 80203
Ms. Eschberger,
erned citizen of El Paso County, Colorado, I HIGHLY and OVERWHELMING
OBJECT Transit Mix Concrete Company's (TM's) application M2017-049 to
h a quarry on Hitch Rack Ranch.
THANKS TO THE COLORADO SPRINGS MEDIA OUTLETS FOR BRINGING TO
THE PUBLIC'S ATTENTION THIS UNNECESSARY, LIFE ALTERING, AND
DRASTICALLY CONSEQUENTIAL HEAVY-HANDED ATTEMPT OF BIG BUSINESS
(TRANSIT MIX CONCRETE CO) TO FURTHER DISREGARD OUR COMMUNITY'S
GREATEST ASSETS OF PEOPLE, LAND, WATER, MILITARY ACCESS, AND
WILDLIFE.
WHY APPROVE DETRIMENTS TO IMP ORTANT ASSETS IN OUR COMMUNITY?
IS N'T THE HIGHLY VIS IBLE, EYE-S ORE MOUNTAIN S CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF
OUR CITY ENOUGH ?!?!?
OUR COMMUNITY will pay too large of a price for TM's local endeavors.
It's plain to see that the application fails to protect water resources, wildlife habitat and
the easement rights of several property owners along Little Turkey Creek Road.
Additionally, the CDRMS / MLRB should take into consideration the further
consequence of the traffic congestion that Fort Carson /military and the community will
experience due to the expansion ofTM's trucks traversing HWY 115.
I urge the Mine Land Reclamation Board (MLRB) to DENY TM's application M2017-
049, and help prevent any future allowance of TM to get its way in OUR
COMMUNITY.
I request that both the Pre-hearing Conference and MLRB Hearing be conducted in
OUR COMMUNITY of Colorado Springs in order to enhance proper community input,
oversight, and media coverage.
Let's do the right thing for OUR COMMUNITY and NOT APPROVE an application that
would allow for a business to victimize OUR COMMUNITY ASSETS.
