Site Description Exhibit B (cont) <br /> The description for these soils are found in the soils informa- <br /> tion is from the NRCS soil survey site for Larimer County. The <br /> pre-law spill areas, existing mine and the old mine/parking area <br /> covers approximately 390 of the site with the remaining areas <br /> having soil as described in the published data . Part of the 111 <br /> Permit area was an old mine site had been used by the landowners <br /> as a parking and a staging area for their other businesses . This <br /> area was redisturbed when the ill permit was in operation and <br /> will become a processing area in the future . The area outside the <br /> old disturbance areas that are not bare rock has a fairly healthy <br /> covering of trees and grass . On the unmined areas there is a 0 <br /> to 4 inch layer of very course gravely sandy loam, what would be <br /> called decomposed granite . This top cover will be use as part of <br /> the material needed to reclaim the benches that are left by the <br /> quarry mining operation as described in the Reclamation Plan. <br /> ON SITE VEGETATION INFORMATION <br /> 1 . Current vegetation cover on the site percent is : 0 to <400 <br /> 2 . Topsoil depth on site averages : 0 to 4 inches <br /> It is a dryland site with no special or unique characteris- <br /> tics other then it is very rocky. The vegetation areas are <br /> sparsely covered with trees, weeds and a few grasses . Average <br /> annual forage production on those areas is estimated at less then <br /> 100# per acre depending on where it is sampled. <br /> According to the NRCS report the species of vegetation found <br /> on the soils listed for parts of this site include weeds, Arizona <br /> fescue, common juniper, Mountain Mahogany, Sage, Ponderosa Pine, <br /> Douglas Fir, slender wheatgrass, kinnikinnick, prairie June <br /> grass, Blue gramma, Side-oats gramma, Slender Wheatgrass, and <br /> Blue Bunch Wheatgrass, et al . Please refer to the Vegetation <br /> section of the soils report for a total list of vegetation <br /> species that may exist on the site . The grass species listed <br /> makeup 370, of the plant types found on the site . The following <br /> Seeded mix was prepared by the Ft Collins NRCS office e for use <br /> on the site . <br /> 6 <br />
