December 7, 2017 RzCtrlVF0
Ms. Amy Eschberger DEC
Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety DMSION
1313 Sherman Street Room 215 NININti; ADenver, CO 80203 - r
Ms. Eschberger,
I am upset that Transit Mix is moving their application M2017-049 to establish a quarry
on Hitch Rack Ranch to Denver. It is generally accepted that `big money always wins'.
That will surely be the case if Denver people get to decide something as important as a
quarry on highway 115.
I have lived on Old Canon City Rd since 1970. I hauled water for family and horses until
April 2014. We finally got water from Keeton Water at a great deal of expense. TM
application does not protect our water resources.
Highway 115 is one of the worst highways in Colorado for accidents and deaths. It is
only two lane from Ft Carson south past the Hitch Rack entrance. We already have three
other quarries on this highway. Please,no more trucks.
I request that both the Pre-hearing Conference and MLRB Hearing be conducted in
Colorado Springs. Who better to understand the effect this quarry could have on the lives
of our neighbors?
Yours truly,
1 J `kj
Judy Bash
9450 Old Canon City Road
Colorado Springs, CO 80926
719-576-0471
jbbash@msn.com
