December 4, 2017
Ms. Amy Eschberger
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety RFD
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203 GN V0
lS/NFR
I nIAlcgNRI,
pS
Ms. Eschberger, E7Y
As a property owner since 1997 in the beautiful and nature-filled Southwest Colorado
Highway 115 area, I object to Transit Mix Concrete Company's (TM's) application
M2017-049 to establish a quarry on Hitch Rack Ranch.
The application jeopardizes the water resources of local residents, fails to protect critical
wildlife habitat, and violates the easement rights of several property owners along Little
Turkey Creek Road. I urge the Mine Land Reclamation Board (MLRB) to deny TM's ap-
plication.
The new application does nothing to address the issues raised when we first objected to
the Transit Mix's 2016 application. Smaller does not mean less invasive nor destructive.
I request that both the Pre-hearing Conference and MLRB Hearing be conducted in
Colorado Springs.
Your truly,
C Dennis Shaw and Marilyn White
Owners of 16316 Cala Rojo Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80926
Temporarily residing at 2080 E Gyrfalcon Lane, Sandy, Utah 84092 for work
Dennis'cell 801-889-7013
Marilyn's cell 719-633-6463
