December 4, 2017
Ms. Amy Eschberger
Colorado Division of
1313 Sherman Street,
Denver, CO 60203
Ms. Eschberger,
Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Room 215
RECEIVED
DEC 0 12017
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
MINING AND SAFETY
As a property owner and full-time resident of the Little Turkey Creek canyon on the
Highway 115 area, I feel I must object strongly to Transit Mix Concrete Company's
application (M20 17 X49) to establish a quarry on Hitch Rack Ranch.
The application jeopardizes the water resources of local residents, fails to
protect critical wildlife habitat, and violates the easement rights of several
property owners along Little Turkey Creek Road. I urge the Mine Land Reclamation
Board (MLRB) to deny the Transit Mix application. It simply is a poorly thought
out plan which doesn't into account the potential impact to water, wildlife
habitat, and negative impacts to our rights as residents to easement concerns.
I also request that both the Pre -hearing Conference and MLRB Hearing be conducted
in Colorado Springs. This the proper venue given that this quarry is in Colorado
Springs itself.
Sincerely,
Steven M.
