December 1, 2017 RECEIVED
DEC 0 7 2017
Ms. Amy Eschberger
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety DMSION OF RECLA IATION
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 MINING AND SAFETY
Denver, CO 80203
Ms. Eschberger,
I am a resident of Colorado Springs and EI Paso County and I am writing to request that
you e'ec Transit Mix Concrete company's request to create a gravel quarry on the
Hitch Rock Ranch. The application is M2014*1049. Anyone who has been in this area will
realize that it is very unique. It contains a narrow canyon with significant wildlife habitat,
natural forest and a pristine creekbed. This request would violate the property rights of
several residents in the area.
In addition the primary access would be what is already one of the most dangerous
stretches of highway in the state.
The application fails to protect water resources, wildlife habitat and the easement rights
of several property owners along Little Turkey Creek Road. I urge the Mine Land Rec-
lamation Board (MLRB) to deny TM's application.
I request that both the Pre -hearing Conference and MLRB Hearing be conducted in
Colorado Springs to achieve appropriate feedback.
Respectfully,
r 6 Ld
Joe Urban
1008 Pioneer Lane
Colorado Springs, CO 80904
719-271-5876
jpurban@q.com
