November 27, 2017
Ms. Amy Eschberger
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Ms. Eschberger,
RECIFIVED
NOV 3 01UIT
61VISION OF RECLAMATION
MININ0410 SAFETY _-
As both a property owner and resident in the Southwest Highway 115 area, I vehemently object to Transit Mix
Concrete Company's application M2017-049 to establish a quarry on Hitch Rack Ranch.
The application not only jeopardizes the water resources of local residents, but it falls to protect critical
wildlife habitat and also violates the easement rights of several property owners along Little Turkey Creek
Road. I urge the Mine Land Reclamation Board (MLRB) to deny Transit Mix's application.
I also request that both Pre -hearing Conferences and the MLRB Hearing be conducted in Colorado Springs.
Yours truly,
Jam s T. Rose
15727 Cala Rojo Drive
CSC, 80926
719-291-8549
Jtr257%@aol.com
PS. I am also the President of the Turkey Canon Water District. I have been on the board for over 17 years. We
have worried about and mitigated water quality issues through the years. I also fear that additional mining
operations near our water sources could financially impact our district.
