Ms. Amy Eschberger
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 RECEIVED
Denver, CO 80203
November 27, 2017
Ms. Eschberger,
NOV 2 81017
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION
M.- I . -. rfflY
As a property owner and resident who lives within an approximate two mile area of the
proposed Hitch Rack Ranch Quarry, I strongly object once again to Transit Mix
Concrete Co.'s attempt to establish a quarry on Hitch Rack Ranch.
Transit Mix Concrete Co. first applied, for basically the same thing, in 2016 and was
denied in 2016 by The Colorado Division of Mined Land Reclamation Board.
My primary concern, once again is the new applicationfails to protect my
water resource. Our community was established in the 's and is supplied by a
community water distribution system which relies on well water. Without those wells our
community would not exist. In addition, the application fails to protect the numerous
wildlife habitats and the easement rights of several property owners along Little Turkey
Creek Road.
I urge The Mine Land Reclamation Board (MLRB) once again deny Transit Mix
Concrete Company's application.
I request that both the Pre -hearing Conference and MLRB Hearing be conducted in
Colorado Springs.
Regards,
Stanley Rawson,
11795 Calle Corvo
Colorado Springs, CO 80926
719-576-3886
kltrain7@gmail.com
