Reclamation Plan
For all drill holes final reclamation activities will follow the completion the hole as closely as
possible.
1. Upon completion of all drilling activities at a given site, all debris, trash, and drilling related
equipment will be removed from the site. When the mud pit is sufficiently dry, it will be filled
with stored subsoil material and compacted to minimize any settling. All remaining subsoil
will be redistributed on and around the drill pad with a backhoe and/or bulldozer to achieve as
closely as possible, the original contour of the site.
2. The following alternative sediment control measures will be used for drill pads: slash, silt
fence, erosion control blankets, or straw wattles. SEDCAD analyses for typical drill sites of
the following sizes: 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 acres were completed for the PR -14 revision
application and approved in October 2008. The analysis is attached as Attachment 4. These
SEDCAD analyses demonstrate that the alternative sediment control measures meet the
requirements of DRMS Rules 4.05.2(3) and 4.05.5. Also Attachment 4 contains slope stability
analysis for drillpad mudpits that demonstrates the mudpits will meet the minimum 1.3 safety
factor requirement of DRMS Rule 4.05.9(8)(b).
3. Stored topsoil will be distributed as evenly as possible over the disturbed pad area.
4. The entire drill pad area will be re -seeded using the following seed mix, which has been
approved by the FS and CDRMS for drill sites in this area.
Seed Mixtures for Paonia R.D.
Habitat type
Elevation
Species
lbs/acre (PLS)
% of Mixture
P/J Woodland
6-7,000
Galleta
3
16
3
15
Western wheatgrass
4
20
20
Great Basin Wildrye
3
16
Sandberg bluegrass
Indian Ricegrass
3
16
Bluebunch wheatgrass
3
Sandberg bluegrass
3
16
20
100
Bottlebrush squireltail
3
16
Total
19
100
Habitat type
Elevation Species
Lbs/acre (PLS)
% of Mixture
Mountain Shrub
7-8,000 Mountain Bromegrass
4
20
Prairie Junegrass
3
15
Western wheatgrass
4
20
Indian Ricegrass
3
15
Sandberg bluegrass
3
15
Bluebunch wheatgrass
3
15
Total
20
100
Habitat type
Elevation Species
Lbs/acre (PLS)
% of Mixture
Aspen/Spruce-Fir
8-9,500 Mountain Bromegrass
5
26
Slender Wheatgrass
3
16
Thickspike Wheatgrass
3
16
Canby Bluegrass
3
16
Blue Wildrye
5
26
Total
19
100
11
