<br />zompanies f am 1966 through 1973 prior to founding the Hendricks Mming Company 4Q974 to re -open and `operate the Cross
<br />Gold W me at Caribou, in addition to founding several other mining and mil n g -related companies; and,
<br />WHEREAS, Tom Hendricks has been ever difigeat to guarante.- that his companies maintain a strong comraitmcnt
<br />u their eaviroaxnental systems, and due to such commitment; was presented a special award by Colorado Governor Rae Romer
<br />n 1988 for designing and bu:ildiag a mine water discharge systems and, .
<br />WHEREAS, Tom Hendricks W istedhis industry is a myriad of roles hwluding serving as a spansor of the annual
<br />]Id Tm2= and Miners Days Festivals in. Nederland, as a member of the Colorado Bureau of h+fines Task. Force. and as a Trustee
<br />:or the Western Muwum. of Mining and 3ndustzv, among others; and,
<br />WHEREAS, Tom$eadricics has been. profiled immm=ous broadcast and print media fiatures, including Newsweek
<br />Vie, the Engineering and homing Joumak, the Christian science Monitor, several area radio stations, Turner Broadcasting
<br />nd each ofthe Denver affkiates ofthe ABC, CBS mdNBC television networks, the Boulder Daily Camera, the Deaver Post and
<br />�e Rncky Mountain News, which profiles have been. based on his successful ventures, and his commitment to the cqvhvameat
<br />nd.to people; and,
<br />AREAS, Tom Hendrick'has teen. awarded with innumerable tributes and honors, including the Nederland
<br />lugget Award for assisting the Town of Nederland, the Duke Rudman H== Award for a 1988 mine rescue, .and was recent[v
<br />zducted into the Boulder County Business Hall of Fame for his-busft=s and leadership accomplishments,
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees of the Town o€Nederland unanimously adopts
<br />ais resolution to honor Thomas S. Hendricks for his never-ending contnbations and commitment to the mining and milling
<br />ulustry; the environment; the comnami y of 9ederiand and the surrounding area, and, moreover, to ail of thepeople whose lives
<br />e has touched, and, further, in recognition of the foregoing, the Board DOES HEREBY DECLARE:
