Noise. The noise levels, day and night, for weeks, months, and years on end will greatly reduce our
ability to be outside of the houses and may even impinge on our well-being in the houses themselves.
The noise levels from the mining operations would have permanent damage to the ears of our young
grandchildren first and potentially affect the hearing ability of adults. Again, this just not seem fair. How
could a company be allowed to mine gravel in such close proximity to our family? Why should I not
benefit from the full pleasure of living in and out of doors due to this mining operation? Mining owners
and employees leave the worksite and retire to homes without the dust and noise that we will endure
twenty -four -seven.
My wife and I have lived on the farm for nine years and we have poured every available effort and
resource into improving the farm — remodeling one house, building an addition to the other house,
building fences and storage sheds, re -roofing and residing our tractor shed, constructing beautiful
flower gardens, maintaining the health of our trees, and installing solar panels. I only have a year or two
left to work and a reduction in the value of our land will put our retirement goals out of reach. It is not
fair that the mining operation would jeopardize our retirement and could cause us to sell our farm at
prices well below current market price.
Please find that this damage caused by this mining operations is untenable in this day and age when
environmental health is so important. Please stop the mining operation.
Regards,
Jerry J Johnson, PhD
Professor and Extension Specialist
Office phone 970-491-1454
Cell phone 970-690-9259
Email address:`
t /c, t K.'- )o n Sp"t Gc
