Randall, Executive Director | Virginia Brannon, Director 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 Denver, CO 80203 November 13, 2017 Grant Farnsworth Oak Mesa Ditch 1378 4100 Road Paonia, CO 81428 Re: Bowie No. 1 Mine (Permit No. C-1981-038) Permit Renewal Application No. 7 (RN-7 ) Dear Mr. Farnsworth: The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on November 13, 2017 , an application to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the Bowie No. 1 Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. The applicant, Bowie Resources, LLC, proposes to continue underground coal mining operations on land located approximately 3 mile(s) North of Paonia . There are no proposed revisions to the approved mining and reclamation plan, nor is there any proposed surface disturbance outside of the currently approved disturbance area. The permit area is further described as follows: In all or portions of the following: Sections 1, 2, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 22, 23, 24, and 25 Township 13 South, Range 92 West of the 6th P.M. and Sections 17, 18, 19, 29, 30, 31, a nd 32 of Township 13 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map(s): Gray Reservoir, Bowie . In Permit Renewal No. 7, Bowie Resources LLC is proposing to renew its permit at the Bowie No. 1 Mine for another five year term. Mining has ceased and reclamation activities are in progress. No changes are proposed for the existing permit, permit boundary or disturbed area. This renewal
