The site is a revoked site. As such,there is <br /> no permit remaining, all reclamation liability monies have been exhausted with the Division's reclamation and <br /> maintenance of the site,and there is no operator. <br /> The site is located in the bookcliffs at the northern end of the BLM mountain bike area known as the North Fruita <br /> Desert. There are bike paths , a parking area and a camp ground near the base of the road to the reclaimed portal <br /> bench. <br /> The site was dry and the weather was clear at the time of the inspection. <br /> BACKFILL and GRADING—Rule 4.14 <br /> Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1;Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2;Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); <br /> Steep Slopes 4.14.2,4.27; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br /> The mine portal appears stable. Some rock fall was apparent above the portal area that has obstructed the <br /> western upland collection ditch. No recent damage was noted on the reclaimed portal bench,bench out slope or <br /> reclaimed haul road. <br /> FISH and WILDLIFE—Rule 4.18: <br /> Lined lizards were seen scampering around the reclaimed roadway. Deer scat was noted throughout the <br /> reclaimed areas. Numerous songbirds were using the reclaimed shrubs and vegetation. Canyon wrens were <br /> identified, along with several different species of smaller birds. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE-Rule 4.05 <br /> Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9: <br /> The pond was holding a shallow pool of clear water. New sediment had settled into the bottom of the <br /> pond. A couple feet of sediment storage remains before the pond will discharge out the channel.
