MANAGEMENT
Clayton Wein RECEIVED
Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety
1313 Sherman St., Room 215 NOV © 7 2017
Denver, CO 80203
Division of Reclamation,
Re: Bowie Resources, LLC, Bowie No. 1 Mine Mining & Safety
Technical Revision #114, revise underdrain location
Adequacy Response #1
Dear Mr. Wein:
DRMS' letter dated October 24, 2016 transmitted its adequacy review for the referenced technical revision.
On behalf of Bowie Resources LLC, following are its responses to the DRMS' comment and concerns.
1. DRMS: Within the revisions on page 4b Figure, why are the previous revisions deleted? Please
explain or revise your submittal.
BRL: Volume XI, page 4b is a small schematic in the text and as such a large revision block does not
appear on the page. Therefore, only the current revision date is shown. During the review of page
4b, it was determined that the MR -194 layer was turned off and Temporary culvertJ16 did not show
up. The layer has been turned on, and therefore Volume XI, page 4b has been revised and is
attached.
2. DRMS: In the text it appears that page 5 should be updated so that the paragraph beginning
"Sediment Pond J" will not be repeated on pages 5 and 6. Please explain or revise your submittal.
BRL: Please see revised page Volume XI page S.
3. DRMS: There seems to be an inconsistency in the page footers of the proposed revised pages. The
page 12 footer includes the old TR number (TR -105) and the old date (September 2015), but new
page number. Other pages in the submittal have not been substantively changed but the footer has
"TR -114" and a new date. Please explain this inconsistency or revise the page footers.
BRL: In the process of determining why the page 12 footer was not updating correctly, the
formatting of the document, overall, was revised. During this process, a few pages and their
associated page numbers changed. Please see revised Volume XI, pages 6-8 and 12. There were no
substantial changes made to the text on pages 6-8, but the page breaks did change and therefore
the text on each page changed.
