0010
General Shale
Building The American Dream®
necessary, the loader operator may add water to the fill to assist with compaction. Additional 1-2 foot
thick layers will be built on top of the previous layers until the bench matches the elevation of the clay
stockpile pad area, reclamation plan, and/or surrounding native topography.
An affidavit is attached certifying that the sand and clay material from the Sedalia Landfill and scrap
brick (grog) is inert and "clean".
Placement of the scrap brick and Sedalia Landfill's clay and sand material will assist in site reclamation
by providing additional fill material as replacement for mined materials. These materials will assist
filling the pit to the existing topography so the pit will drain and leave no ponds per the reclamation plan.
These materials will not impact surface water runoff quality, because these materials does not contain
contaminants, and local area storm water runoff is diverted away from the mine disturbed area. The
scrap brick will not contaminate ground water because it has been fired to a high temperature. Further,
these materials will not be placed below the saturated zone.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions at 303-783-3058.
Sincerely,
General Shale Brick, Inc.
Jason E. McGraw P.E.
Mine Supervisor
